Appropriate protein intake
Patient with kidney failure should be careful in his protein intake. Protein is important for body health, but it can also cause many problems to patient with kidney disease, because protein can produce many wastes that can accumulate in blood and need to be excreted out by kidney, which can aggravate patient’s condition greatly. The appropriate amount of protein intake for patient with kidney disease is 0.8g/kg, and it is important for patient to take high-quality protein, which is very necessary for body health, like egg white, lean meat, milk, fish, etc.
Low amount of sodium intake
It is better for patient with kidney failure to take a diet that provides low amount of sodium intake. Much sodium is harmful for patient with kidney disease, because it is a major cause of edema and hypertension in patient with kidney disease, so patient should reduce their salt intake, which is the major source of sodium. The appropriate amount of salt intake for body is about 6~8g per day. In fact, we can take about 3g salt from the foods we take, so it is suitable for patient to add about 3~5g salt in their diet. High calory intake
